BBBEE.

  • Black Economic Empowerment is a policy of the South African government which aims to facilitate broader participation in the economy by black people. A form of affirmative action, it is intended especially to redress the inequalities created by apartheid.

  • The policy states that there must be standards for BBBEE business accreditation. The accreditation is not the same for all businesses; it varies depending on size of turnover of the business and, to some extent, the industry.

  • There are 3 categories for accreditation, Exempted Micro Enterprises (EME), Qualified Small Enterprises (QSE) and the General category. Each category has their own rules for compliance.

  • Topou as a company falls into the EME category for BBBEE Compliance.

  • Should you require a formal BBBEE statement you can contact us for our affidavit.
